Reiki originates from Japan. Rei (pronounced "ray") is Japanese for universal or spiritual consciousness or a higher dimension of light and the soul. Ki (pronounced "key") is Japanese for vital force energy, which animates everything, also called Prana, Chi, etc.

When energy is blocked due to injury or stress we often are less able to access our body’s natural healing process. Reiki helps strengthen and restore energy flow, distributing calming energy throughout, allowing for restorative healing to be attained with ease.

As a practitioner I act as the conduit for this energy through gentle contact with the client who is fully clothed under a sheet. I may sense a spot that is in need of more attention, or if there is an injury more time may be spent in a given area.
